Honestly, I don't know why, but there is a difference in my results when I
hold a finger on the screen while finding the correct position. Smile.

one finger on the upper part of the screen after tapping "Take Picture" and
while changing the distance to the page. There are 3 sounds heard, a high
frequency repeated heard, probably auto focus finding edges and text, the
camera sound and the iPHone's window sound when it opens a new window. I
heard the repeated sound a couple of times, and the camera sound when the
app was satisfied and started processing the scan. I'm not sure about the
font size, but it was the small paper manual for Apple wireless keyboard,
which is a pretty small one. Probably why the app found the best position to
be about 1 foot from the page. It's also possible to do the same manually by
tapping the "Camera" button, but then you have to be absolutely sure the
camera are at the correct distance. Needless to say, the lightning is the
most important part, in my case some wonderful norwegian daylight. Smile.

software automatically looks for the edges of the page and trims them and
then checks for orientation, before starting the OCR process.
