Hi, Very true. Everyone else just has to adopt, and as the iPhone is becoming a pretty popular product, and people want the same content, it's almost a necessity. I'm not even sure if all platforms, mobile or otherwise, even support Flash. I know some of them do, though. I don't really mind Flash being there, as long as I can turn it off as I myself do not want it. What concerns me is potential security risks being brought to the iPhone, the resource usage not to mention battery drain. I think that also, like Steve said, Apple has adopted Flash because it is a non-proprietary and open standard. Webkit, which is actually a small project started by Apple, also renders HTML5 webpages, and also used by many platforms which again adds support for HTML5 elements, essentially performing many if not all of the same features Flash does. Of course, HTML5 is still being added onto, whereas many people just see Flash as aged technology. And if some devices do not support Flash, but developers want those people using those particular devices to view their content, they'll adopt. And everyone moves on, eventually. As to whether or not Flash will die, I guess we'll see.
