Such an irritating and stupid feature. I'm sure Apple think they're being 
exceedingly clever by "predicting" that people want to turn on their notebooks, 
when in fact they just wanted to open the lid, or plug them in. The triumph of 
form over function. And so now we have this little not-quite-a-workaround.

And sadly this isn't controlled by the "pmset" command-line utility, which in 
theory would be the right place to add this control for advanced users. Even 
though the "acwake" and "lidwake" settings already exist, they do not appear in 
fact to work with Apple Silicon.

I would curse, but ...
