I didn't have trouble updating, but after the update, things that should
work the same in 18.1.1 qas they did in 17.7.1 do not. To wit, the
Volume selection on the VoiceOver rotor now adjust ducking ratio, not
VoiceOver volume, and when ducking is turned off, the Volume item on the
rotor does nothing. Secondly, you're supposed to be able to arrange
notifications in a stack, a list, or by count. That choice does nothing,
and I'm stuck on the "as stack" setting. I had an hour-long conversation
with Apple Accessibility about these issues last Saturday. The
conversation included a screen recording session with VoiceOver Capture
enabled, plus I ran diagnostics and sent them up the line right to Apple
engineering. I'm supposed to hear back on these things tomorrow morning,
December 3, at 9:30am. Knowing Apple engineering as I do, I'm not
holding my breath, but they will get back to me eventually.
