I have two older Apple TV's that I got in 2017. I know both were up to version
18, and last night I updated both to 18.1. Just like th IOS update on my phone
it was an update that took longer than usual. At least the Apple TV stated
it was going to take a while to do the update.
All seems to be working fine in my humble opinion. Just be patient when you do
it.

I have a I Apple TV 4K. It is currently running TVOS 18. I have not checked to
see if it ever updated to 18.1, but it seems to work pretty well. What seems to
be the issue or is there an issue? Just wondering as I may have missed part of
this thread.
