Hi Mary, Well, that’s interesting. In the voice rotor, it now says primary voice, not default. And having that voice selected doesn’t result in automatic language switching on the iPhone. So I don’t know what that means for your upgrade to IOS 18. I only have one voice for each language, though, so perhaps that’s the difference?
Re the Mac, I mis-spoke. I’m sitting at the kitchen table with all my Apple devices. I was thinking iPad, but typed Mac. So far as I know, there is no way to set languages to auto-detect on the Mac.
