Google seems to point to the master boot recordĀ  (MBR). Anyone have experience with this function?

My understanding is that Intel-based machines no longer have master boot records - it's all UEFI.

Apple Silicon machines have their own boot process that, as far as I know, doesn't follow any externally specified standard.
