Hi Phil, Once you turn it on, voice guide should already begin speaking. Jonathan Mosen has a great review of this recorder on the Blind Podmakers podcast. Just search for the blind pod maker on your podcast app of choice and you should find it. On the face of the recorder, just below the display, you should feel 4 buttons. When you turn on the recorder for the first time, voice guide should say guide plus beeps. You can scroll through the options by pressing the second and 3rd button on that top column, and you hit enter, which is the last button on the very top row to confirm. Make sure you choose guide plus beeps, or else it won’t continue to speak. You shouldn’t have to go into the menu to enable it. Hope this helps.
