As VoiceOver users, most of us depend on the keyboard commands more than the average sighted person does. So generally, I assume that they are accurate in the menus, whether they are dimmed or not, whether they are consistent with other parts of the operating system or not. I usually go to the menus to get this kind of information and rely on its accuracy and usability. So it would be nice if Apple would at least add move to the edit menu in the Finder, but it is up to them. I will keep copying and moving my folders and files with Command c followed by command option V, whether it ever shows up in the menus or not! > On Apr 13, 2023, at 9:29 PM, Jonathan Cohn <jon.c.c...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hello Mary, > My reading from your last message is that you want to know why there is a cut > command in the Edit menu of Finder and yet it does not work. > This is for consistency sake, when one creates a program in MacOs, the system > provides some default menus. > The Apple, Application, File, Edit Window and Help menus are available in in > all applications, and most of the items within those menus are also standard > and have default positions.
