tim, Thank you for this. I had no idea mini display port on that model doubles up as thunderbolt. I’m sorry, I was asking many questions some on the new mackbook air and one, this one, on the 2017 model which I’m going to be passing onto another person. Hence the need for thunderbolt backup system.
