well, as I have noted more than once when usage comes up, in this present moment the IOS voices make me physically ill due to a secondary experience. because the mac, at least the older one i desire getting still uses more hardware voices..hard to explain, I am more likely to find a safe voice in the mac environment. For example the system voice used with the on board tutorial seems to be fine. my computers are more tools than toys, there are software programs I now I will want for the mac, I have used them before in other settings. I cannot imagine ever needing one of the post Intel macs for my use at all, but my needs are somewhat unique. however, one thing that, at least for now, the IPad may manage that I desire doing is music composition. there is a program called symphony pro which is in Ios, best for the iPad and I am told by others most accessible indeed. Were the voice factor not such a critical issue for me, I would get an IPad for this reason alone. I even have an external full sized keyboard with with the IPad can be paired..my dream macbook pro too for that matter. No IPhone for me though, where calls are concerned, I prefer my phones as dumb as possible smiles.

True, but what sets the Mac apart from the iPad for you?
I love the speed and the sound quality of the voice and the speaker on the M1.
I like the consistent interface and integration between IOS and the Mac, but I
wanted to play games on the Mac that I have on the iPhone.
So disappointed that I can't do this yet.

I respect that stance, but from what i understand there are things one can
do with one os, that is not possible for the other, at least without
short changing things that make each unique.
Apple has too much invested in each infrastructure for a merger of two
different types of technology.
Just my thoughts,

Developers want to make more money, and I understand that they should be

believe that we will see iPad and Mac Merge.

If that is the case, then developers would only need to make one app.

There are developers who embrace multiple platforms i.e. you can play some
games on the iPad and iPhone.

I????????m not sure how that will work since the iPad is branching off in a new
direction.

Actually, I suspect that????????s precisely what some developers don????????t
want. Just a hunch.

True enough, but I kind of feel like Apple reneged. I????????m sure it was
because of pressure from some developer, but still.

Hi Les,

For me, that has been a huge disappointment in the M1 Macs, particularly after
watching Apple tout this feature so strongly last fall. They blocked side
loading, and very few IOS apps will actually run on the new Macs.

Best,

Donna

Hi All,

I read that this can be accomplished. I run many apps on my iPhone and would
love to do so on my MBA which is coming soon. How does one accomplish this? Do
you have to download each app from the Apple Store on to the Mac, or is there
another way this is done? Thanks for the knowledge.

Best,

Les
