Hi,

The System dialogs are accessed using VO-f1-f1, the Application Chooser.  After 
bringing it up, arrow down to System, then right to open the sub-menu to see 
the specific alerts.  Press return to access the alert.   With respect to 
updates, it depends on whether they are app updates or MacOS updates.  In Big 
Sur and a few earlier MacOS versions, the MacOS updates are now in System 
Preferences, Software Update.  If there are app updates, when in the App Store, 
press cmd-8 to bring up the updates screen.
