Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time adjusting to the TouchBar on your MacBook Pro. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 13, and while I don’t find the TouchBar useful, I don’t have a problem with it because I rarely need to use it.
Perhaps you are not aware that there are other ways to perform common activities, then by interacting with the TouchBar. 1. For example, you can switch between running applications by using CMD + Tab. 2. VoiceOver users can access the AppSwitcher using Fn + VO, and pressing the NumberRow 1 key once to hear the current application, and twice to open the AppSwitcher. 3. Using Fn + VO + NumberRow 2, will identify the current application window, and pressing the NumberRow 2 key a second time, will open the Window Chooser. 4. Using FN + Tab, will perform the Escape function. 5. System volume can be adjusted using VO and the NumberRow Minus key to lower the volume, and the Equals key to increase the volume. Some of the activities mentioned above can also be accomplished using the TrackPad Commander, though personally, I find keyboard commands simpler to use. As mentioned in another post, you could also choose to use a separate USB or Bluetooth keyboard, I hope you find these suggestions helpful, and your TouchBar Mac less frustrating for you to use. - Brad - On Apr 25, 2021, at 00:43, Yuma Decaux <jamy...@gmail.com> wrote: I am ranting on this post, but I really cannot stand this touch bar anymore. It's completely useless on a functional basis, as when trying to do stuff in an efficient way, such as switching applications and using the function keys for doing the switches, I have to keep massaging the damn touch bar with a finger long enough for it to decide to wake up at some point. Each time I do this, it's like a 4 to 6 second wait. that time is enough for me to have to remember either the line of math or code or whatever I was keeping in memory to move across to another application or such. I really cannot stand this absolute farce of a feature which is meant to make things look pretty but has no use at all when it comes to being productive. And having a mac for me is meant to be synonymous with being efficient and productive, least path of resistance, it just works, those kind of things. The touch bar is the complete contrarian design idiocy that for some reason creeped into a perfectly awesome laptop which is the macbook pro 16 inch. I spent over 7000 australian dollars for this, and the touch bar itself jjust makes me want to throw this laptop out of the window at least 5 times a day, simply because this entire row of touch screen pretty pretty but totally useless b buttons is there not wanting to wake up snappilly and respond to what I want it to do. A complete thumbs down on whoever gave the green light on this most stupid feature. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
