OK, I just tried this on a different website, and my results were as follows: website: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2018/08/17/customize-word-keyboard-shortcuts-mac/ <https://www.idownloadblog.com/2018/08/17/customize-word-keyboard-shortcuts-mac/> 1. With focus on the web contents, I used CMD + L, to move focus to the address field. 2. Pressing Escape, returns focus to the web content area.
I am able to repeat this behavior on the following site, which is the site I tried before writing my earlier post. Not sure why my results changed. https://www.atguys.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=62_45&products_id=276 <https://www.atguys.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=62_45&products_id=276> - Brad - On Nov 29, 2020, at 09:03, Brad Snyder <wb...@swbell.net> wrote: Using Safari 14.0.1; from what I can tell, pressing the Escape key doesn’t really do anything. If the contents of the address bar are highlighted, pressing the Escape key, unhighlights the current contents of the address field, but focus remains in the address field no matter how many times the Escape key is pressed. One still needs to stop interacting with the Toolbar in order to move focus to the web content area, or anywhere else. - Brad - On Nov 29, 2020, at 07:00, Jonathan C. I recently heard about this and have tried successfully a few times. So, no strong confidence in this but it appears to work : Sent from my iPhone > On Nov 28, 2020, at 9:49 PM, Lorie McCloud <lorice...@gmail.com > <mailto:lorice...@gmail.com>> wrote: > > lately I've been having trouble getting out of the tool bar or side bar into > the web content. is there a keystroke for this? > > thanks. > Lorie > > -- > The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries > list. > > If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if > you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or > moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. > > Your Mac Visionaries list moderator is Mark Taylor.
