VLC is very helpful with this.
Copy the URL from the Safari address field. Then in VLC, open the URL from the open network stream dialog. Find the item in the play list table, go into media information and find the location address and copy it. Open the link in Safari, vo-shift-m on the html area and choose download video or download video as.
