Hi, My understanding is that various health or government agencies who have developed apps for tracking would request this data. It kind of depends on your local/regional government. I agree in that it is not well explained. Take note though, that this is not only an Apple initiative. It’s developed by both Apple and Google for implementation on both platforms. I’m hoping that someone like Mac Rumours or some other Internet big-wig puts out a better explanation of the process to the masses.
In further reading, many of the apps that will work with this technology have yet to be developed or released. Here’s a bit of an explanation from a Canadian prospective. https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/apple-google-covid-app-1.5577166 <https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/apple-google-covid-app-1.5577166> Later… Tim Kilburn Jamf Certified Tech Apple Teacher (with Swift Playgrounds Recognition) Fort McMurray, AB Canada On May 21, 2020, at 8:48 AM, 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> wrote: The Learn More dialog doesn't really tell you much. It just talks about how exposure notification works. It doesn't say anything about what specific apps you need to install to use the feature. Under the Active App choice: I see no apps installed. So clearly Apple's COVID app is not an option. this is really a bust.
