I don't know how you are doing these things on a Windows machine. In Mac, the 
VoiceOver command control-option-command-F3 will tell you information about the 
item in the VoiceOver cursor. Each time you press the keystroke it provides 
different information. Obviously not a great keyboard combo but if it works for 
you somebody on list can give instructions on adjusting one of the commanders 
to give you quicker access to that command.
