I'm not sure Sarah what you mean when you want to do this faster, but if there are a large number of messages, you can use command-a to select them all and command-c to copy. THen you can arrow through the list of mailboxes and once you have interacted with the mailbox, command-v will paste them. You should also be able to use shift-down arrow to highlight several messages and perform the same steps.
