Hi Ian,
Welcome to the list. I suggest that you spend a few hours interacting
with a Macintosh at your nearest Apple store, in order to determine
whether it offers advantages over Windows. I think you will be
pleasantly surprised. I have found that Windows continues to be useful
in a few cases (e.g., some websites are not accessible with Safari,
and Explorer for Macintosh is not accessible with VoiceOver). For the
most part, however, I much prefer the Mac over Windows.
