Hi,

When you enter the body of the message, VO should just start reading whatever
content is already in the body of the message. ie. signature, previous content
if replying etc. You may wish to check in the VO utility under the Navigation
category to confirm that "Automatically Interact When Using the Tab Key" is
checked. If this is checked, then there should be no need for extra
interaction when using the tab navigation.

Two things to consider. First, while I understand that when people are used to
using JAWS and such in the Windows environment, they will make comparisons and
also use that process as a foundation for their activities on the Mac, this is
a flawed and confusing process. It is much better to attempt to ignore your
history with the Windows processes, and embrace the new methods that you need
to use. Second, there are many different ways to skin a cat on the Mac. The
process I've outlined to you is just one for composing and communicating. You
don't need to use the tab key, you can use VO navigation, or you can use simple
arrow navigation while in edit fields.

Later...

Dear Tim,

When do I know that I am in the body field? I am sorry. Sometimes, when I am in
the body field, VO says I should interact because it is a web area. If I don’t
interact, navigation keystrokes don’t work. Somehow, Windows environment seems
much straightforward at this point.

Kindly offer me some more points about handling email composition and editing
on the Mac.

Take care,
Hem.

Hi,

Yes, you can press tab to move between fields. No, you don't need to be
interacting with anything when creating a new Mail message. Just press cmd-n
to start. Your cursor should start in the "To" field, then press tab twice to
get to the next edit field which is the cc field, etc. Press cmd-shift-d to
send it after you're done.

Hi Tim and all,

Thanks so much for the explanation. I deleted the accidentally created alias
stuff.

On email:
Can I press tabs to move between to field, the cc field, and the body field
when composing a message? Should I interact with message table before composing
an email? Kindly let me know.

Warmly,
Hem.

Hi,

No, the alias is simply a pointer to the original file or document so deleting
the alias only deletes the alias. The keyboard command for creating an alias
is cmd-l. As already mentioned, use cmd-delete to put an item into the Trash.
With respect to Mail, use cmd-n to start a new Mail message, use cmd-r to reply
to a message you have just read, use cmd-shift-d to send the message you just
composed. Use Delete to delete a message.

You can create an alias for a file, so that whatever changes you make to the
alias, it will also change the original — or vice-versa. I put my aliases on my
desktop so they are easy to find. You can also put an alias on your dick if
that works better for you.
