Doesn't sound much different from touch typing but having turned off
the slide to type seems to make typing with the braille display better.

The other one is overactive haptics. It's called Voiceover Haptic Feedback.
You can turn this off completely, or choose what items to turn off
individually. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Voiceover, Audio.
