Hello everyone, I’ve written to this list a few times. But it has been a while. I have some questions I could use some thoughts on.
I was given a Mac laptop a couple of Christmas’s ago. It runs Yosimitte, and can’t be upgraded. It was a friend’s of mine. So when I start it up, it still shows her as the owner. I’ve wanted to start using this laptop. I have a little bit, but not too much. However, I am having a pretty big problem with my windows laptop. So I really want to start making use of the Mac, if at all possible. My 1 question is this. If the Mac still shows my friend as the owner, then will I likely even be able to sign in to my Apple account? If so, how would this work? Also, I asked this before. But it isn’t something I understand too well. I have 2 external harddrives that I would want to connect up to the Mac. I use them both regularly, and they both have a lot of files and folders on them. Some of the stuff, I share with a friend, regularly, using Dropbox. So if I connect these harddrives, will I still be able to view all my files and folders? And if I share them with anyone who uses windows, will they be able to access them without any issues? Or is this something I will now have to be concerned about? Also, how accessible is Dropbox on the Mac? And what about Sendspace? Could I still use this? Does it tend to run well on the Mac? Or can it have issues? I am sure I will likely have more questions. But this is what I can think of for now. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
