I havetoagree wwith Alex on this, Both sides The iPad Pro is a great device although can be costly if you get the 256 gig model but I’d suggest more rather than less storage,
As for the mac book air, That is my personal choice of notebook for the size and weight, plus more powerfull processor and cheaper than the mac book 12 inch Plus the air give you USB 3 and thunderbolt, Now with the standard 8GB ram and increase a hard drive storage size to 512GB You can’t go wrong If money wasn’t an issue then the mac book pro would be a more powerfull machine but not needed in most situaitons. I still use an 11inchh mac book air from mid 2013 for both mac os and windows. Shame you can’t get them now. Have you considered dropping the Mac and using an iOS device for everything? With keyboard commands, and, of course, a keyboard connected to your iThing, many tasks are much easier these days. Switching apps and quickly dealing with emails isn't as smooth as it is on macOS, but you mentioned books, and iOS has far better book-reading apps than the Mac. I know it's an odd suggestion, but it's a thought. After all, an iPad is well under half the cost of an Air, and even an iPad Pro is far cheaper than a MacBook. If you do go MacBook, though, do yourself a favor and get more storage if you can. I lived with a 64GB Air for a while, and it was miserable. If you plan to store a lot of audio on it, and don't want to rely on networked or wired drives, even 128GB might be too small after a while. -- Alex Hall On Jan 8, 2018, at 16:00, regina alvarado <reggie.alvar...@gmail.com<mailto:reggie.alvar...@gmail.com>> wrote: A question that I know is individual, but I need to get some ideas. I like my Mini, but I got it in 2015 and it cannot be expanded and only has 4 gigs of ram. Thus I cannot go past El Capitan. What do you think. All thoughts are welcome. Still have not decided to change, but maybe I will. Might want a laptop. Reggie and Lex -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
