Hi Simon, Yes, iTunes Match can change your songs into the high quality m4a version if that song is available in the iTunes Store. iTunes Match also lets you keep these versions of the songs if you terminate your iTunes Match subscription at a later date, unlike Apple Music which makes those songs unusable to you. Yes, iTunes Match is a yearly subscription, that is about $25 US and $28 CAD. Not sure what it is in NZD.

Hi, To confirm. The iTunes Match songs do not count towards your iCloud Drive storage. It is a separate entity. I'm not sure why some of your music wouldn't upload Mary. I have around 10,000 songs in my iTunes Library, of which probably only 2000 are purchased. The rest were either ripped or digitized in some manner or other. All songs within my library are within my iCloud Music Library. There are limitations with respect to the length of files, but if yours were just ripped CD song titles, they should not be an issue.
