Interesting. I guess that knocks the thing sideways. For a while I
wondered if the issue was on non SSD drives which are formatted to APDS.
Apparently not.

Mary,
Help us. How about a web page (in English) where this happens. Does it
only happen in web pages and emails?
Did you do a clean install or did you upgrade over Sierra?

This is really unusable. I've gone from busy busy on Sierra to this. I'm just
about done with a Mac. If I can't get basic tasks done efficiently, windows

Hi,
You'd think so, but, it seems that the Security Server is still called up and the authentication

helps at all. I've been trying to see if I can localize the Security Server and create an
activity, but haven't made a lot of progress yet. Lots of "nice try Tim", but nothing
tangible yet.

Hi,
What's happening here is that the authentication layer, which is invisible to
the sighted user, is activating. When your computer screen is set to sleep
after a certain amount of time, or if it is set to lock after a certain amount
of time, authentication will take over and require a password to allow someone
access to the computer. If you disable this level of security, it seems that
the authentication layer initially still activates, but it does not lock down
your computer. Because the authentication layer was activated, VO announces
that this window gained focus, and, of course, this announcement interrupts
whatever you're listening to. extending the time of the screen sleep or scree
saver will reduce the incidence of this announcement.

Now if I envoke window chooser, this window is not evident. So I guess it's
hidden or something. I'm wondering if there's anyway to find it and get rid of
it.
