Last I heard Apple was not going to support BlueRay because of the mess of DRM. In particular Jobs called Blu-ray "just a bag of hurt" and that they would be waiting for it to settle down a bit before supporting. I've heard that even folks buying standalone players are having to patch them and such as newer disks are using more features which exposes even more bugs. There is also the whole secure digital signal chain such that if they can't detect the display properly bad things happen etc.
