My MBA 2013 is usb 3 ports and it still takes ages to sync my library and also via wired gigabit network as well was taking to long. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Tim Kilburn Sent: Wednesday, 18 January 2017 9:05 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: question for anybody with a 2016 macbook pro
Hi Jeff, I stand corrected. Sorry. I should have checked more carefully before posting that. My 2011 15" MBP only has the USB 2 ports, so I assumed the 2012 did too. That's what I get for making assumptions. My setup is similar to yours except I created a Fusion array with the 7200 RPM drive I moved over into the optical drive bay. You may still have the issue of iTunes trying to copy over as the extra drive you've installed is separate from your Home Directory location. It is possible to move your iTunes Library folder onto the other drive instead of it being in your Home Directory. Using this configuration, you may experience better performance when importing large amounts of data into iTunes even though the media is on a 5400 RPM spinning drive. Later...
