Hi, The SSD will actually make a huge difference. Since you already have 8 GB RAM, that's a good thing as well. I've put SSD's into quite a number of 2012 MBP's lately and the users have noticed huge improvements. With respect to installing Sierra on that machine, it's kind of your call. It will add some features, but some new features require newer hardware. It certainly shouldn't hurt your machine or slow it down that much with the installation of the SSD and with 8 GB of RAM on board.

Bucciarelli www.linkedin.com/in/SaraiDBucciarelli Hi guys: I found an authorized service center that will replace my MBP battery, but I have to order it from the Internet. I’m also thinking about letting them replace my 7200 rpm 500 HD with an SSD. My question is is it worth the hard drive upgrade? Will my MBP work faster? It has 8GB RAM right now with cor i7 processor. Also, is it worth having him install the latest Os, Sierra on a machine this old? I don’t want to sync a lot of money in to this machine, but I really cannot afoard to buy a new one. Battery will cost $99 $25 to put it in. He said it would cost $150 alltogetehr to put in the SSD. OF course, this doesn’t cost the price of the SSD. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
