Laughs, I definitely remember a time or two where a backup would have come
in handy. But a low end pre-owned iphone 6 is still going on clasifieds
sites for $400. Apple hardware depreciates slower than other hardware. I
guess if I could find a decent 6s with reasonable storage for the cost of a
middlin ipod I'd consider it, but I don't see it happening.
One nice thing about android is that it keeps my costs low while allowing
my productivity to stay high.
Best,
Erik

Hi Erik,
In some ways I agree that using an old cell phone is overkill, but, on the
other hand, if anything ever happens to your phone, you have a backup. :)
Not that I've ever needed one, but it still seems like it wouldn't be a bad
idea to have one just in case.
cheers,
Donna

As long as I can get one before they're gone I'll be fine. Ipod touch is
the perfect apple gadget for my needs. Using an old cell phone as an ipod
seems very expensive overkill and an ipad mini is too big for my use.
All good things come to an end I suppose, but ipods have
serveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed me well for many years and I'll be sorry to see
them go.

It is only rumour but fairly strong rumour. The article I read was that
part of the drive that Apple are making towards wireless making us use
earphones island abandoning the headphone jack with a possible view to
make devices like the watch eventually replace the iPod.
There has also been speculation another lists that in reality people are
using older iPhone models they replace with newer models as virtual iPods
anyway, reducing their motivation to buy new actual iPods.
What is completely undeniable is that the iPod is no longer in Appleās
Marketing priorities.
If you go to the Apple Store in the UK it is only possible to find the iPod
amongst the footer area at the bottom of the page. It is completely missing
from the headline products at the top of the page. This seems to confirm,
some of the rumours.

Hi,
I was wondering whether those of you who use ipod touch would be happy to
tell me how satisfied you are with it. There's been a disturbing rumour on
the list a while ago, that ipod touch might be discontinued. Was it just a
rumour?
Thanks in advance
Andrew
