Hi Anouk, The web site for purchasing VMware Fusion 3 with an academic discount is tricky to use. Here's where I would go for the U.S. site that points to VMware Academic Store :
http://www.vmware.com/vmwarestore/academicstore.html Use item chooser menu and start typing in "button". There should be an entry for "button_get_discount.gif". There are actually two listed (one for Windows and one for Mac). You want to select the first entry with (VO-Space). Once you have been routed to "button_getdiscount.gif" press it (VO-Space). Then use item chooser menu to look for "Get qualified for Academic Discounts" and (VO-Space) to select. Navigate (VO-Right arrow) through the form. You'll need to set the pop up button for your status (e.g. "Student", "Faculty"), fill in the text field for your school, set the pop up button for you country, type in your email address, and check the box that says you have read the terms and conditions for eligibility and agree that you are eligible for an academic discount. (I'll paste these below, so you don't have to navigate to the web page to read them). Then navigate to "button" (no other label) to submit your information (or press escape to get out of this window). You'll be taken to another web page which is mainly the product description, but there is a pop up button to set currency. If you read down the web page, or just navigate to the heading "Make Your Selection Below", you'll get the summary information about the product (VMware Fusion 3 - academic discount) and price. Navigate to the button: "btn_store-addtocart.png" and press it (VO-Space) to add this item to your cart. You'll next get to a check out page where you can check out and pay by credit card or PayPal once you press (VO-Space) the btn_store-securecheckout.png button. HTH. I would use an email address from your school or do the transaction when connected to your school network, just to be safe. I'll paste the terms and conditions below my sign off. Cheers, Esther <begin quote from Terms and Conditions> Terms and Conditions Are you eligible? In order to acquire VMware software at an academic discount, you must be an Eligible Educational End User to use the VMware Software. "Eligible Educational End Users" means students, faculty, staff and administration attending and/or working at an educational institutional facility (i.e. college, university, public or private K-12 schools) as well as parents or legal guardian buying on behalf of a child who is a student attending or accepted to a qualifying academic institution. If you are under 18, you may buy products on the VMware online store only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. VMware reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion. Verification Requirements: In order to purchase selected products through the VMware academic store, individuals are required to enter their academic institution name and e-mail address. VMware audits this data to insure that academic purchases are only made by eligible participants. If VMware determines that you were not eligible to purchase from the VMware Academic Store, you authorize VMware to charge your credit card or Paypal account for the difference in price between the public retail price of the same product (published on vmware.com) and the price you paid on the date you placed the order. <end quote> Chris Blouch wrote: > You can generally do better buying it elsewhere.
