So just so you know, we here in the US pay for content from the beab as well.
Just so you also know, the reason we pay for your content is because our
content sucks.:) At least you folks across the pond are still doing
interesting things with television and broadcasting.
That being said, the idea of paying for broadcasting over the air just
offends me. You Europeans taxing per receiver and all that just would bug the
hell out of me if we did it here but far be it from me to dictate how others in
other parts of the world do things, one size does not fit all regardless of the
marketing.
In the US we have a thing called BBC America. Just as it sounds it’s
what you’re doing watered down so the products of our failing education system
can follow along. We pay for this as part of our TV package so you’re getting
some of my money too. I believe our version also has a lot more commercial
advertising than yours.

That being said, geoblocking subverts the entire focus of the Internet. The
public network is for public access of the global resources. It’s fine to
limit access based on security and lots of concerns but you’re going to block
me from public content because I live 3000 miles that way? I thought these were
broadcasters? Don’t they want more ear holes and eye balls? I don’t get it,
in the game of broadcasting I thought more is better. I want my Top Gear and
F1 direct damn it! Ok, not so much Top Gear any more that your BBC director
fired Jeremy but hey, you can’t have the talent slapping around the producers
either so I get it. Anyway, it’s Jeff Besos to the rescue, the 3 are headed
for Amazon and so am I if that materializes. And Graham Norton would have never
gotten a show here, I like the BBC.:)
