Thanks much. those are things I’ve tried, including the home/power button 
reset. 

I think I’ve found the culprit. I had my auto lock set to “never”. This sucks 
one’s battery dry. Setting it back to 5 minutes does help significantly. 

I had it set for “never” because I was taking notes during a day-long meeting 
and didn’t want to have to keep unlocking my phone. 

My other question though is how to remove things from the lock screen. I’ve got 
a lot of stuff on there I don’t really want or need and it does drain battery. 

Then to tackle the data issue.
