Sarah,

I was thinking of the same thing, especially after I read the other thread
about the new releases. I was thinking that may be the current sixth
generation macbooks price would go down to open the way for the sale of the
seventh generation.

While we are on this topic, Do you recommend an audio tutorial or some text
files for a complete mac novice? I like to read a little or listen to some
tutorials so that when I get my laptop I would know where to start.

Cheers,

Cris

Hi Cris,

the MacBook Air would be my recommendation. It's light and small, very easy to
carry around. It's plenty fast for browsing the web. I've had my Air since
2013. I may replace it this year or next, but as much as anything that's
because I like new toys. :) It is in no way obsolete. I did however, spend
the extra money to max out the specs. One thing about the air is that what you
buy is what you will have for the rest of the life of the computer. So the
time to add extra storage or memory, is when you purchase the unit. I started
out on a MacBook Pro, but have been very happy having switched to the Air.

Cheers,

Donna

Hello Folks,

I have never used the OSX system before. I have always been a windows user.
However, now is the time for me to buy a new laptop. I decided to give the
apple mac a try.

I do not know what apple laptop to buy. I am looking for a machine powerful
enough to keep for a number of years without getting obsolete so fast. But I
do not want it to be outrageously expensive either. I also want it to have
enough ram and storage to support the installation of windows to use during the
transition period. I also want it to be fast enough, not to drive me crazy each
time I browse the web.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Regards,

Cris
