Hi, I was recently pondering this as I was looking for a small Mac to compliment my 13-inch MacBook Pro.
My advice would be to go with the MacBook Air. I hated the keyboard on the 12-inch MacBook. The processor is far superior in the Air. Not to mention USB ports. Like the first Air the new MacBook makes some dramatic cuts in the pursuit of slimness.
