Jonathan,

I just discovered something I didn’t know before. Apparently, when i delete an
e-mail from my Gmail account on my iPhone, it goes to the Archive Mailbox. On
further research, the Archive mailbox is All Mail, not Trash. This appears to
mean that all e-mails, both those which I mean to delete and those which I
don’t, are all in one mailbox. As an experiment, I deleted your original
message from my All Mail box. It is now gone from my phone. That’s no big
deal. It’s on my Mac. But that clearly means that there is no way to
selectively delete all the mail I’ve supposedly gotten rid of over the past
year and change. this really stinks. I’d be curious to hear any further
thoughts.
