Hello, the Wikipedia page on remote protocol implementations lists 72 different 
commercial and freeware programs to do this.

One that looked like it works on Mac and does sound forwarding is call  FREERPD 
.

I was starting to think it might be interesting to look at SAPI and see if the 
API could be used as the basis of a Network protocol.
