Really in the end it is best to either see what Apple would charge to get the disc out or try ejecting the disc with the slot-side facing toward a table and it may take some tilting back and forth to see if the disc will slip out. Sounds like maybe a label or something has gotten hung on the drive's mechanism. Yeah, this is a problem for slot-load drives, but I've only had a few occasions where this happen in my wife's iMac and I just found tilting it back was sufficient to free the disc.
