Another cool thing about Uber is that you can request a ride for someone else and keep track of their status. I had a friend come up to the hospital to watch the super bowl with me this evening. I was able to request a ride and then texted the driver with my friend's name, that he is blind and would have his white cane and where he would be waiting. I was then able to make sure he was picked up when the "on rout" status popped up. It also kept me updated on what his ETA was and I could see when he arrived.
