Here is how it can be done:

1. Navigate to the object to be dropped.
2. Press VO-comma on the object   
3. Navigate to the location to drop the object.
4. Press VO-period.

At this point the system will move the mouse cursor to the object and then 
move and drop the object at the location choosen in step 3. You need to 
wait for this to take place when finished when done you will hear a notice 
telling you what happened.
