Chris, if you single tap the screen it wakes.  Not sure if that helps on the 
how to wake the watch question.

I’ll fiddle with the settings.  I made the ricardo and george suggested changes 
and so far so good but I may play with the voice over and wake options.

How are you liking your watch so far?
