If there any security fixes in the intervening versions we could probably get Apple to update. The Apple versions of BSD file utilities often have support for resource forks since BSD 4.4 did not support features found in HFS or other more complex file layouts. I have no ideas if he's ever gotten her read back in the BSD or GNU versions of these commands, or even if this is important to you.g
