Hi Anne,
Thanks.Sorry, I did not mention I am still on Yosemite. I will stay with it a while longer.

I went back into Disk Utility again and took my time with this task. I got it and tested by making a backup with Carbon Copy Cloner and then rebooting to that backup. Slow as molasses but not a surprise. The main thing was to be sure I had selected GUID.

Hello E.T.,

It would appear that since El Capitán, partitioning a disc has become
inaccessible. I’ve reported this to Accessibility. Numeric editable fields are
provided for specifying the size of each partition, but when you change the
values in these fields, they immediately revert to what they were. It seems
that all partitions must be changed at the same time using the circular
adjuster that we can’t use.

I’m utterly disgusted about this.

Cheers,

Anne

I think I need to start over and get this right. Would appreciate the steps
I need to take to set the correct options for each partition. I thought I had
it but found they were set with the MBR option, not GUID. Thanks much.
