Before I copy the iTunes folder should I format the drive on my windows pc, so that it’s usable for both the mac and the pc? If yes to what format should I format it to? Hi Zoe, your iPhone can only sync with one computer at a time, so you'd want to be sure you will be happy sticking with iTunes on the Mac before you make the jump. If you do, the folder structure of your iTunes library is the same, whether you are using Windows or Mac. So if you have an external drive large enough to accommodate it, or your two computers are networked, you can copy the iTunes folder and all the folders underneath it across to your Mac. That will bring your music, apps, video and library data across. Then sync with your Mac. It's been a while since I've tried this, and I don't recall if preferences are carried over as well. Perhaps someone else can comment on that. Since the folder structures are the same, it's actually a straightforward process. Best of luck. Hello Zoe, I assume you run latest itunes on your mac? There's no need to be afraid. Once you connect your iphone to your mac, itunes will probably open automatically. If it doesn't, open it. Your phone should appear in the itunes window as a popup button. Vo+space bar on this button to confirm that you wish to choose this. Then if you vo+right arrow from this button, you can see a summary area of your iphone. Listen for the word summary. You need to interact with it with vo+shift+down arrow in order to access all the elements in the summary area. There you will find important and useful info about your iphone, including your iphone number, its latest software, update button, but also the backup options. You can either choose to backup to your itunes library or iCloud. Or you can do both. If you come out of the summary area for your phone with vo+shift+up arrow, and vo+space bbar to the right, you will hear the word playlist. This is the list of various categories on your iPhone: again, you will need to interact with this table list in the usual way in order to choose the category you want to manipulate or view. The one that's already highlighted is your summary area. But you can also vo+down arrow in this list to choose other categories. The one immediately underneath your phone summary is your apps. Once your voiceover cursor lands on it, it becomes active. Stop interacting with the table list with vo+shift+up arrow and move with vo+left arrow to the left and you should hear apps summary area. Interact and there you will find the list of all the apps relating to your iphone. These apps are again arranged in a list. You need to interact with it in the usual way. Once you can vo+arrow up and down it, you will hear which apps are installed, can be installed, or you can also remove them from your iphone during the next sync session. If you stop interacting with the apps area, jumping to the very right of the screen with command+vo+right arrow will put you on the sync button or apply button which are the same buttons but apply appears when you have made changes to your choices for your iphone. Zoe, I realise there's so much for you to learn but don't lose heart. It will take time. And we will help as much as we can. Hope this will help a little. Be aware, since you are going to connect your iphone to itunes on your mac for the first time, there may be messages appearing to do with iphone in itunes which I may not be aware and therefore can't comment or warn you about.
