I have two issues with icloud. First, the recurring and insouciant cost.
Second, the lack of cross platform compatibility.

I am not enamoured of storing all my data in house; however, It gives me the
flexibility to pay for new storage up front as I need it and not to have the
recurring cost which I can sometimes afford but usually not.

Plus, I don't like being locked in to one thing. I own a mac with windows and
vinux virtual machines, an IOS device, and an android device. My friends and
family own a hodgepodge of devices and I want them to all be able to use the
cloud if they choose. I realize that may not be the case for a lot of people,
but since I have the equipment held over from my old training company, and the
expertese, and considering my need for enormous capacity, I figure I might as
well take command of my own data destiny.

Best,

Erik Burggraaf
