Hi Alex,
I do have an IPhone that has the KnFB software on it and I do use it.
The issue that comes to mind is that in processing mail, I keep records
of bills & payments and keep files on my Windows 8 computer.
If I were to scan important mail with the KnFB app on the IPhone then
after saving information to a file/document, I am uncertain about
transferring information to either my Mac Book Pro or Windows 8 computer
for the purpose of record keeping. I have already installed DropBox on
my phone, but now need to figure out how to get it on the Mac Book. It
is the one piece to the puzzle I am still uncertain how/where to find
software and download and install on the Mac Book.
I’ve looked in Itunes & the App Store, but only see items for either
Iphones or Ipads.
Everything I do on the Mac is a major learning curve and by the time I
get one little thing figured out how to accomplish I walk away with a
major headache! I'm half kidding & half serious about that last statement.
Thanks for any ideas on a workable solution to what I am trying to
accomplish.
Eileen

The two popular ones are Prizmo ($50--don't bother with the $100
version) or Abbyy Fine Reader. Both seem to do well, though I haven't
compared them side by side. If you have an iOS device, I have to say
that I find the KNFB Reader app to be more convenient and just as
accurate, especially now that it has a stand mode.

Thanks for all recommendations.

in the voiceOver Utility under commanders/quick nav, there is a check
box that says "Enable single-key webpage navigation when using Quick
Nav.” You can try unchecking this if you do not like to use single key
navigation. This feature is probably what does not allow you to type in
text fields on webpages. I use single key navigation a ton so I leave
this option on.
