Hey Tim, yes fair enough. I should be pulled up on that phraseology. I think the majority of screen readers use the "to the right of cursor" method, which has made it something of a convention. But then, the majority of screen readers are for Windows, and there's no reason at all why the Mac shouldn't have its own conventions, as indeed it does, such as interacting, and other behaviours. So yes, standard wasn't the correct word in this case. I'm changing back and forth between OS X and Windows on my virtual machine many times a day, so for me I can save what little sanity I have left by ensuring that when it comes to cursor movement, both environments work the same. Good to have the option for sure. Like you, I remember the Apple 2E and working with the cursor the Apple way. All the best.
