Hi Donna,  I just did the double tap 3 and yes it muted and unmuted my  
speech. The odd thing is, when I checked the mute speech setting in  
voiceover utility it was unchecked even though the speech was muted.   
Checking and unchecking the box does nothing if yu mute speech using  
the trackpad.

Well I don't know how I keep managing to do this by accident, but at  
least thanks to you I know how to take care of it more easily.

Now back to trying to make the rest of the track pad work... Sighs.
