Hi listers,
Has anybody had success getting the Open suse live CD running on the
macbook? Specifically, has anybody gotten the talking boot menu to
work? Supposedly there is an initial screen that lets you configure
accessibility options of suse, including starting the desktop with
orca, but I cannot get this to speak upon booting from CD. I wait a
few seconds, press f9 according to directions, but nothing happens.
I would try this using fusion, but I cannot get sound of any kind when
running this as a virtual machine. Has anybody had success? If so,
would you mind sharing some tips?
Note: I know this is not exactly on topic here, but I know of no other
list to ask. I'm also trying to avoid the dreaded W word for my next
laptop I purchase as a backup to my mac.

John
