So, I’d like to further expand on Deb’s problem, and a consistent work around that I’ve found. It’s incredibly annoying, but, it does work, nonetheless.
If you hit return on a message to open it, Voiceover is definitely not going to allow you to up and down arrow line by line. Nor, will it let you VO+up and down arrow either. Interacting won’t really work at this point. Before I go any further with this, let me clarify for anyone new reading this message: I’m very specifically referring to Mail with OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. If you’re on 10.10.2 or earlier, you’re not going to probably have this problem. So, the work around that I found is to open up the message you wanna read with return. Again, reading it now will be broken, but hear me out on this. Now, hit command+W to close the window and land back in your message list table. Now, hit return again on the message. Presto! Now it’ll work like normal, and you can up and down arrow, even with quick nav not turned on. Now how weird is that! It works though, I promise. Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean. I wonder visually what they’ve done differently to cause this. Someone made mention about it taking a bit to load IMap folders. This isn’t the case. I tried this out as well with a pop3 account and had identically the same problem that Deb is describing, so no, she’s definitely not going crazy. LOL! I was definitely able to reproduce it. The other thing I see is that when I hit command+shift+D to send off an e-mail, it takes about half a minute before I hear the rocket sound swoosh to tell me the message was sent. It’s not my network connection either, trust me, as all my other devices on the network are sending e-mail practically instantly. So, yeah, I’ll admit, so far from what I’m seeing between this with Mail, and my macbook slowing down slightly, I’m not exactly the most impressed with this update at this point.
