Hi Esther, it's great to see you posting to the list again and sharing all your knowledge. When I was writing Tweeting Blind, I decided it was a good opportunity as a reasonably new Mac user to go full emersion and do all my writing in OS X. I had the time, and it was an excellent way of further developing my Mac muscle memory. I did indeed use Nisus, but I found quite a few compatibility issues when others, or when I in Windows, opened the file in Word, which is the industry standard. I also found very quickly that VO just doesn't give me as much information as a writer than JAWS does under Windows. And a third-party publisher I use for getting material into the iBooks Store requires a Word document formatted a very specific way which I was able to speed up with the help of a Word template. So after that experiment, I went back to writing all my books in Microsoft Word with JAWS and Windows. One of the things I really do appreciate is having VMWare Fusion. We face so many challenges as blind people that I think we need to use whatever tool we believe will allow us to get a specific task completed with the greatest efficiency, ease and productivity. So when it comes to writing, application of formatting and editing, for me at least, nothing comes close to Word and JAWS at this time. I appreciate that everyone's needs and requirements are different, and Nisus is an excellent and largely accessible product. It's been a while since I used it but I think Anne may be correct about tables. Jonathan Mosen Mosen Consulting Blindness technology eBooks, tutorials and training http://Mosen.org
